Golden temple

 The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is the most important spiritual site of Sikhism. Located in Amritsar, Punjab, India, it stands as a symbol of peace, equality, and spiritual enlightenment.

The foundation of the Golden Temple was laid in 1581 by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru. Its construction was completed in 1604, and it was designed to be a place where people from all walks of life could come and worship freely.


Unlike many temples that are built on high ground, the Golden Temple was built on a lower level, symbolizing humility. The four entrances on each side represent openness to all religions and cultures.

The temple is surrounded by a sacred pool called the Amrit Sarovar, which gives the city of Amritsar its name. The temple’s upper floors are covered in real gold, giving it the name “Golden Temple.”


Its architecture blends Islamic, Hindu, and Rajput styles, symbolizing unity. The serene reflection of the golden structure in the surrounding water creates a breathtaking view, especially at sunrise and sunset.


🍛 The World’s Largest Free Kitchen


One of the most remarkable aspects of the Golden Temple is its Langar (community kitchen), which serves free meals to over 100,000 people daily, regardless of their religion, caste, or background. It is entirely run by volunteers and donations.

 An elderly person had three children. They were diligent employees yet consistently battled. He would never join them. He then became sick and requested that his children join together.  They ignored him. He chose to show them a thing or two to make peace. He provided them with a heap of sticks and advised them to break it into two. Whoever completes first would win. They immediately rehashed this and began battling.  He then provided them with one more heap of sticks and advised them to break it as a pack and not independently. Regardless of their earnest attempts, they couldn't make it happen. He let them know it was not difficult to independently break the sticks. However, assuming you stay joined together, nobody can hurt you. They at long last grasped the worth of solidarity.
